A wealth of local history can be found in The Cowlitz Historical Quarterly published by our Historical Society since 1959 on a variety of subjects related to our county. The current Summer/Fall 2020 issue is Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Roots in Cowlitz County. (Back issues are available upon request)

Young Readers

For our young readers, there are a wide variety of coloring, educational, activity, and chapter books on many topics! Native Americans, Lewis and Clark, nature and animals, the Oregon Trail, farms, pioneers, railroads, American history, and Bigfoot are just some of the subjects found in our store. Our varied selection of Dover coloring books offer detailed pictures with wonderfully descriptive captions. Crabtree books, including Bobbie Kalman’s various historical series, are some of the best informative illustrated children’s books out there.

Our toys include entertaining propeller “sky tops,” Jacob’s Ladders, drop spindles, nose flutes, and of course our merry bags of marbles that come with four pages of different games instructions to play with family and friends. We have die-cast pencil sharpeners, replica historical documents, Lewis and Clark expedition dolls, Advice from Nature bookmarks and magnets, fun rules, finger puppet stuffed animals, plus much more. Don’t miss the chance to come by and see for yourself!
